Apple is planning to Introduces More Ads, Coming to iPhone App Store from New Few Days - Full Report
As reported by the Financial Times in April, Apple is planning to introduce an ad slot on its iPhone App Store. However, the reasoning behind this change is not clear. Some suggest that the company is trying to increase the power of the App Store, but others believe it's more about money. Apps that get featured on the App Store can significantly boost a company's valuation and attract new users. As such, Apple may want to take more control of the app discovery process. The move could make Apple a more powerful player in the mobile app market.
According to a new report, Apple plans to place ads on the Today tab of the App Store. These ads will appear alongside daily editorial content. The ads will be clearly marked as ads so users can distinguish them from normal editorial stories. The Today tab was introduced in 2017 as part of the App Store redesign.
Apple has also said that it will not show personalized ads to users below the age of 13 or if they are part of a managed account. Furthermore, the company does not allow advertisers to target users based on their gender, political affiliation, or health. As a result, the ad placements on the App Store are not targeted to individuals but to segments with at least 5,000 similar users.
Apple's ad business is a growing one and it wants to expand it as much as possible. The company's CEO, Tim Cook, holds a new iPhone 14 in his hands. He revealed that the company wants to double its advertising revenue in the next year, and is working towards that goal by introducing more ad units. It's also planning to introduce search ads in Maps.
Until now, Apple had only allowed ads on App Store searches that were keyword-based and appeared in the "Suggested" section of the App Store Search tab. However, in late July, the company announced that it would be expanding the use of Ads on its App Store. Apple is also considering expanding its Ad program to other apps as well. This change could lead to the advertising of Snapchat, Apple Maps, and other apps.
While the Apple App Store uses a bidding system to decide which ads are shown on the App Store, it is still important to use precise keywords to target your audience. You can use Exact Match keywords, for example, to target users who use the exact word used to search for your app in the App Store. This strategy helps you target your audience more effectively.
While Apple's Ads on the App Store work similarly to those in the Google Play Store, Apple's implementation is cleaner and easier to navigate. Also, the product page ads in the Play Store are far higher up than those in the App Store. In the Play Store, the ads on product pages are placed before other apps by the same developer.
