Google Cloud Introduces Blockchain Node Hosting Service for Web3

Google Introduces Cloud-Based Blockchain Node Hosting Service That Supports Ethereum

A new blockchain node-hosting service from Google Cloud will allow developers to quickly deploy Ethereum nodes on a Google Cloud compute instance. Previously, developers had to manually provision a compute instance, install the Ethereum client, and wait for the node to sync with genesis, which can take days. With the Blockchain Node Engine, developers can deploy a new node in a single operation and specify the network and region they want.

Google Cloud is also launching a blockchain node-host service for the Theta network, a next-generation blockchain focused on media. Theta is a decentralized network that can process up to 1,000 transactions per second and has a low carbon footprint.

The service offers two options for developers: self-deployment or pay for Google Cloud to deploy your nodes. During this beta phase, the service will support only Ethereum, but developers can also pay for additional support for other blockchains.

ConsenSys, which has been developing decentralized software services for the Ethereum blockchain, has been working with the Blockchain Service Network (BSN). The partnership is aimed at further developing public blockchain networks in China. BSN is an open-source protocol layer that is used to power Ethereum-based enterprise solutions. The company plans to launch these solutions in over 80 cities.
