Samsung and TikTok have partnered up to create a brand new music collaboration tool called StemDrop Powered by Samsung
This innovative platform lets users work with other artists to create and share new songs, and it will feature music produced by renowned producer Max Martin. Martin has worked on numerous Billboard number-one singles, including Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time," the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way," and Celine Dion's "That's the Way It Is." The new software is also designed to let the community add their own production effects.
StemDrop will allow TikTok users to create music in a new format, called Stems. These blocks are essentially the building blocks of a music track and include vocals, drums, and bass. The StemDrop mixer is an essential part of the new feature, which allows users to separate vocals and other music tracks.
The new music collaboration tool will be accessible to users on Android and iOS devices. It will feature a selection of curated tracks from around the world, created by users and selected by TikTok and its partners Syco, Republic Records, and Universal Music Group. TikTok music curator Ari Elkins will act as global ambassador for StemDrop, as will singer Astrid S. Other artists included in the partnership include Your Boy Moyo, a popular YouTuber and a TikTok music curator.
The StemDrop feature will feature user-generated tracks on a weekly basis, showcasing their talents and helping emerging musicians reach a wider audience. Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ali Payami, among others, have all recently collaborated on a new track. Users will also be able to remix the track as well. The new music collaboration tool is expected to be released on October 22.
The StemDrop music collaboration tool aims to revolutionise global music collaboration, giving budding music creators the chance to work with renowned songwriters. The new tool will enable a wider range of musicians to showcase their talent, giving the world's greatest songwriters a platform to share their work with the world.
StemDrop will also give the TikTok community access to song stems - the individual components that make up a song. It will be open to all users, and the TikTok community will be able to remix or cover the song.
The new technology also enables creators to use the FlexCam feature to record music videos on their devices. The upgraded Z Flip 4 camera has a 65% brighter sensor, giving better quality videos in low light conditions. It also connects with the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro to provide Hi-Fi sound.
