Oppo Upcoming Smartphone with 240W SuperVOOC Flash Charging in Next Year
Oppo is making new records for smartphone charging. The 240 W "SUPERVOOC" prototype will charge a 4,500 mAh battery from zero to 100 percent in just nine minutes. Its battery percentage indicator can even go to two decimal places.
The battery is equipped with a Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI), which helps protect the electrodes. The Oppo phone's 'Battery Healing' feature repairs the SEI layer over time by continuously replenishing it with a special electrolyte solution. This helps improve battery performance and extend battery life. The phone's battery is said to be more powerful and last longer, so it should have a more powerful battery than ever.
Currently, only prototype models of the Oppo phone are expected to be released with this technology. It is unclear when the company plans to launch the commercial version, but it is making strides towards that goal. The company has previously introduced a 150W fast charger that charges a 4500mAh battery from 1% to 50% in five minutes. This feature is compatible with the company's Battery Health Engine, which allows it to provide a more effective charge.
According to reports, OPPO is currently working on bringing its 240W SuperVOOC fast charging technology to the market. As a result, it has been rumored that the company will launch a 240W smartphone in 2023. The device is expected to launch in the Reno 9 series and Oppo's Find X6 lineup.
Another big trend that will be on the rise is fast charging. After Realme introduced its 150W fast charging solution, OPPO has announced the 240W SuperVOOC flash charging technology. This new tech promises to charge a 4,500mAh battery to 100 percent in just nine minutes. Unlike Realme's 150W charging, OPPO's charging system features five safety measures, including a custom-designed control chip and conformity to standards for heat dissipation.
OPPO has been at the forefront of pushing charging speeds up in recent years. With the SuperVOOC fast charging standard, the company has been at the forefront of forcing manufacturers to introduce faster charging speeds for their smartphones. The company will start selling chargers separately in 2023, but has not revealed which phones will be the first to include it.
OPPO has also been working on a foldable smartphone. This smartphone will feature a hinge and dual screens that are powered by one battery. The phone's hinge will be composed of over 136 components and will have a glass cover that is able to bend over 200,000 times. The screen will also fold in a way that leaves little gap or crease when folded.
